There are many reasons why students decide to get tattoos. There are those students that get them to look ‘cool’, and then there are those students that get them for reasons that are more reasonable. Although tattoos can look amazing when done correctly, students should avoid them because they cause problems as students get older, they can bring back bad experiences we’d rather forget, and they are painful and expensive to remove.
Students usually don’t think about the future and therefore don’t think that tattoos can bring several problems for them down the road. For a student that is aiming for a job in a professional setting, it is probably one of the worst thing to do. Employers and customers don’t want to see a doctor with tattoos or an important diplomat with tattoos all over their bodies.
Teenagers can get caught with their emotions and do things in a suddenly instant. And to a certain extent that’s fine, but not in this case. Because you have been with your girlfriend or boyfriend for a year doesn’t mean that you will be together a lifetime, therefore don’t get their names tattooed on yourself. This can cause problems with your future spouse.
It is also important for students to realize that taking a tattoo off is more painful and expensive to take off than to actually get them. So, unless you are willing to go through that, then you are pretty much stuck with the tattoo.
Tattoos can be really cool and wonderful to look at, but they can bring serious consequences. Students should not see getting a tattoo as a light everyday decision; they should analyze it until they are completely sure that that’s what they want to do.
