After years of battling the shaving rule and having to pay a dollar per razor when sent to the office, students are finally able to decide whether they want to grow facial hair.
“I think [the no shave rule] is awesome because in the real world there are no rules about not shaving,” Junior Manny Manznera said. “I didn’t follow the rule last year, I didn’t care.”
Even though the shaving rule had been in place for a while, students were regularly sent to the office for shaving related incidents. Besides not having to worry about shaving, many students are reaping the benefits of letting their hair grow.
“It feels good not to shave, it lets me express myself and doesn’t make my skin feel dry,” senior Nebel Adams said.
Although girls are not directly affected by the new rule, they still have opinions on the subject.
“I don’t like [facial hair] because they’re prickly and nasty, it just depends on how long they are,” senior Jenny Vo said. “I just don’t like how it feels.”
Being on different ends of the situation, girls and boys have different opinions on the subject.
“I’ve been wanting to grow my beard since freshman year so I’m really happy we’re finally able to,” senior Abraham Khan said.
