“Sometimes [parents] don’t understand how their kids feel. They have really high expectations that are hard to reach. My dad sent an email to the counselor because he wanted to get me into MST but they said I wouldn’t get accepted because of my [PSAT] scores and my scores weren’t even that bad, but it didn’t meet the MST standards. They got really mad and said I didn’t care about school, but I really do. I only want to be in MST to make my parents happy. Sometimes they can be really tough, but in the end, I still love them because I know they want the best for me.”
